Sara Bharrat

Description

Sara Bharrat has over ten years of experience in media and communication and more than seven years of civil society service. She has served as the Vice President of Transparency Institute of Guyana and is a founding member of the Electoral Reform Group. Since 2017, Sara has worked in international development through Conservation International. In 2019, she transitioned to delivering democracy and governance programming with the International Republic Institute (IRI). In recent years, Sara has worked with indigenous peoples, women, youth, and other marginalized groups. She has trained more than 200 youth and worked with the Ministry of Education to train educators in conflict management. Ms. Bharrat has also advised Guyana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to engage youth on the border controversy with Venezuela. Currently, she is reading for her Master’s in Electoral Policy and Administration (MEPA) and is committed to learning about electoral reform processes and frameworks.
